Many thanks to Eric Clayton at the Jesuit Conference for soliciting and publishing today’s reflection. As soon as I heard this year’s Advent topic, I knew what I wanted to write about.

Love this and so reminds me of my own California family when I was growing up. Christmas at my grandmother’s house and everyone contributed to both cooking and cleaning up. But we always had her china.
I love this piece. It brought back many wonderful memories of the Christmas Eve journey of our own family. I shared it with my brother and sister.
Hugs,

Nice to know I’m not the only one who gave up one elaborate and beautiful in order to enjoy family and feel okay during and after Christmas. The turning point, for me, was the year I tried to host three major homemade meals over two days with an injured back. My husband and daughter said that year Christmas just felt like working at a B & B. Never again!
